It's the last leg of our independent tour.
We could all feel it while on our way to the National Museum of Australia (NMA) in Acton Peninsula. John's dynamism pumped up our own while pointing to us the different embassies at the State Circle. We were all smiling when he stopped in front of this residence and dramatically made us guess what country owns it.
Passing on Yarralumla, we saw the United States Embassy which is the biggest according to John.
Now, our quick transfer from the New Parliament House and seeing Lake Burley Griffin at a closer distance gave me the anticipation in entering another museum in Canberra.
It's baklava for me! I’ve been curious about this sweet dessert pastry. Finally, this curiosity has ended in Australia. For my companions they settled on these sweets.
After the 30-minute allotment for our meal, we readied for the tour as sugar began kicking in.
Dear readers, come along with us in this virtual guided tour.
NMA has impressively preserved Australia's general history and cultural heritage. Walking through the different galleries with their big unique collections of indigenous artifacts was certainly a once-in-a-lifetime journey to the past. It revealed the reason behind that Aussie pride. Furthermore, our tour taught me that Australia has been a very welcoming country to immigrants and to all nationalities and religions. I would no longer be surprised if our grandson would soon decide to reside here after completing his mandatory military service in our country.
From NMA John brought us back to Civic Square. He pointed to us the directions in going to Canberra Shopping Centre where we planned to accomplish our souvenir hunting.
Phew! We did a lot of walking in search of pasalubongs... *huffs* ... and failed after almost two hours. Huhuhuhuhu. On the flip side, our most welcome consolations were passing by these eyecatchers, and for my sisters' not showing any grouchiness due to our wandering which could have turned them into "travel poopers." Bwahahahaha...
I could sense that my kins would like to go back to the hotel already, and stretch out after our day's activities. Therefore, we were in agreement in booking an Uber and not to attend anymore another dinner invite that Wednesday. My heart was smiling with this decision since I calendared a self-task for my late afternoon in Canberra.
Hey, hey, hey! Cool off my hyper legs. *chuckles*
